Making the first tee

We started with silver. Weight in the hand, something you reach for without thinking. The tee is the same idea, in cotton.

The problem with blanks

Printing a mark on a stock blank is fast, and it is also why so many brands feel interchangeable. The blank decides the fit, the weight, the neckline — everything a person actually feels.

So we drew our own pattern. Six fittings, three bodies, one argument about sleeve length that lasted two weeks.

Embroidery instead of print

A print sits on the fabric and cracks. An embroidered mark is stitched into it and ages with the garment, the way a piece of jewellery does. Ours is tonal — you find it in daylight, not across a room.

Small runs

We make in runs small enough that every piece gets looked at. It costs more per unit. It also means nothing ships that we would not wear ourselves.
